When are the results first visible? Why should I continue with the treatment if visible results can be seen before the end of the treatment course?

The most noticeable change occurs a few weeks after applying the mask in the treatment room; the texture of the skin improves and the skin spots visibly diminish. It can lead to a misplaced sense of achievement. During this time, the melanin is broken down from the superficial layers of the skin; the skin spots are therefore much less noticeable and the skin becomes smoother and more supple. However, the cause of the problem has not yet been eliminated. The melanocytes, the melanin-producing cells, are still out of control and continue to produce excess pigment (melanin). To re-educate the melanocytes and control the overproduction, it is important to continue home treatment with regulating measures. This is the only way to restore the cells to a normal state and prevent the reappearance of skin spots.

Does the Cosmelan® treatment have side effects?

If used correctly and under the supervision of an expert, there should be no side effects. Cosmelan® is applied externally and therefore has hardly any effect on normal daily routine. In the initial phase and after the session in the treatment room, the skin may show slight irritation and redness - a completely normal and expected result. This will completely subside after a few days. During the treatment period at home, flaking and sensitivity may be felt. However, the symptoms will disappear with the use of the home care products recommended by the skin specialist.
