Under the O-NIRSA ordinance, persons performing treatments using non-ionising radiation and sound must acquire a certificate of competence from June 2024. A certificate of competence confirms that the holder has acquired the necessary knowledge and skills, and authorises them to carry out the treatments listed in the O-NIRSA ordinance.
Some treatments use devices that generate non-ionising radiation such as laser radiation or light. This causes severe stress to the irradiated tissue. If such treatments are not carried out properly, the skin, eyes and other tissues are exposed to major risks.
